Southisms began when back in the year 2006, my math tutor and her cousin told me, “Hey! You should write a blog about Music and we’ll foot the bill for the domain for your first year of doing it.”  It was an excellent idea.  So why the hell not? I was in the music “biz” for a while. Did a disk jock job and messed up the playlist, organised some gigs and got lots of free booze…so the blog was like second nature.

Then all of a sudden, school came a long and my involvement with the scene withered like a bad fad pop song.

So what began as a music blog transformed into all the other things that I was interested in. I couldn’t help but write about movies and events because I happened to be involved with them.

Lo and behold, the new (and most likely improved) version of Southisms. I began immersing in multimedia last year when I got a job as a writer for a local music show, ultimately reviving and invigorating my interest in all things spectacular a.k.a. FILM. Therein lies the new concept of Southisms: a blog about all things media but with a Southerner’s touch. I am also a Mindanao advocate, in very specific ways. If you’ve been visiting my site for ages and you’re here for more Music buzz, don’t fret I haven’t entirely got my mind off music. My love for music is unwavering, mind you. But you’ll realize more and more all artistic fields are inter-connected, and are nevertheless a tribute to each other. It will be inevitable to talk about Music in this blog as it is inevitable to talk about film, media, literature and whatnot.

I love visitors. Feed me now!

Since our viewers show different interests, I am trying to link with websites that they might find useful and visit them when they leave our site. I am sure they would have a great interest too in a site like yours. Should you be interested, please let me know. Thank you and good day.
